Sycamore Run Opens Dementia Unit

Sycamore Run is thrilled to announce the opening of our new Dementia Unit! The addition of this service will allow us to extend care to individuals suffering from memory and cognitive impairments in our community. Our Memory Care Team creates personalized care plans and activities related to each individual’s life, interests, and cognitive and motor function. This secure unit provides a calming environment that reduces behavioral disturbances related to Dementia.
“We like to call our Dementia Unit Memory Lane and Memories for short. We have grown to like the name as we know the importance of holding onto our memories,” expressed Tammy Eaton, Activities Director at Sycamore Run. Our team members approach each resident with compassion, respect, and love. They are prepared to meet the needs of our memory care residents through their skill and experience in this specialty care.

Memory Lane is a locked unit. That might sound a little scary, but rest assured that does not mean your loved one is confined to the unit. Memory care residents are under full supervision at all times when out of the unit. The safety of our residents is our number one priority, and this is strictly for everyone's safety and reassurance. Our residents' loved ones are always welcome on Memory Lane. We also supervise and participate in group activities outside of the unit, including Bingo, special meals, and enjoying live entertainment.
