Shelly Summers, BSN, RN

Shelly began her nursing career working as an aide at Wooster Community Hospital at the age of 16. She graduated from Miami Valley Hospital with her RN in 1988 and went on to work in Dayton for the next three years. Next, she worked at our sister facility, Scenic Pointe, before working her way up to ADON at Sycamore Run. Shelly has been with us for a total of 33 years!



Shelly went into nursing after receiving a Nurse's uniform at age four, idolizing the idea of being a Nurse her whole life after that. Growing up, her Gaga (grandpa) would talk about buying a nursing home just so she could take care of him.

Shelly is married to Cecil, and they have a large blended family. She has a total of 19 grandchildren ranging from ages 6 to 31! She also has six great-grandchildren. Shelly used to show horses growing up and her favorite place was the Wayne County Fair. She spent most nights sleeping in the barn with her horse and friends. She still loves going to the fair and walking through the barns.
