Rita Vansickle, LPN

Rita started working for Sycamore back in 1985! She began her career as a “feeder” working 4-8 pm. She was one of the first people to go through STNA classes at Castle Nursing Home when they became state tested. After graduation in 1987, she worked dayshift until she took an LOA and pursued her dream career of being a Nurse in 1998.



Rita’s grandmother was a Nurse and always wanted one of her children to become one too. Rita, being the only granddaughter, picked up where they forsook. Rita loved looking at Nurse uniforms growing up and was enamored by them. Through the toughest days, including COVID, she may have had some second thoughts, but we are grateful for her hard work and dedication!

Rita has been married to her husband, Rick, who is also a Nurse of about 16 years. Together, they have four kids and one very loved granddaughter. They are expecting two more granddaughters, one in June and one in October. Three of her kids work here at Sycamore Run too!
