Celebrating the One and Only, Dr. Butros Latouf!

For National Physicians' Day, we celebrated things a little differently this year than in past years. We didn’t have the huge party that we usually do. Instead, we decided to plant an apple tree on the grounds of Sycamore Run to honor our one and only Dr. Latouf. We did, however, in the traditional Sycamore fashion, have plenty of treats to celebrate!

Dr. Butros Latouf has been practicing medicine for 30 years. He graduated in 1989 with plans to go into general surgery, but his plans changed. His specialty has been internal medicine since 1993, and in 2011, he began his specialization in sleep medicine. We are privileged to have had Dr. Latouf with us at Sycamore Run for most of his career.


Dr. Latouf grew up in Syria and settled in Millersburg after visiting Dr. Nashawati and falling in love with the rural, hometown feel. Once he was settled in, Dr. Latouf and his wife, Faten, started their family of six. The oldest, Natasha, is an Astro-physics Ph.D. student and works with NASA. Selena studies theatre while in New York with her sister, Joy, who studies fashion design. Sami, the youngest, still lives at home and is a sophomore at West Holmes. A fun fact about Dr. Latouf is that he has a pilot's license to fly single-engine planes.

Dr. Latouf is the Medical Director at Sycamore Run, runs the successful Millersburg Clinic, and does rounds at Pomerene Hospital. Patient noncompliance and navigating insurance requirements are the hardest part of his job. His advice for anyone looking to work in medicine is, “Stay focused, work hard, and never quit!”
