Foundations Health Solutions, the parent company of Foundations Health Solutions, has awarded a husband and wife caregiving duo as the Brian Colleran Culture of Care Award winners for March 2020. The Culture of Care Award is based on the vision of nursing home developer Brian Colleran and his vision for everyone that works in long-term care seeing themselves as caregivers, no matter what their position. Brian's passion for the older adult poplation in Ohio led him to inspire Foundations Health Solutions' to instill core values such as, "It’s never about the role, it’s always about the goal," so that all Foundations employees will know that they play a vital role in resident and family satisfaction.
For the month of March, an amazing couple caught Brian's eye - Mike and Juanita Seevers. The Seevers have been caregivers for 66 combined years at Sycamore Run Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Millersburg, Ohio. Juanita started out in the dietary department in 1990 and worked her way through the department to become the Dietary Manager. She not only cares for, and about the residents, but she also has taken employees under her wing as well. You see, it is very common for dietary departments to bring on brand new employees to the work force, and Juanita takes great pride in developing a work ethic, while at the same time working around the schedules of her team to accommodate the extra curricular activities of high school employees. Juanita not only mentors her team, but also is at the forefront of feeding employees, as she provides around the clock nutrition daily for her staff.
Mike Seevers has 36 years of history with Sycamore Run. He is an state tested nursing assistant, and has mentored many nursing assistants throughout his career. Nowadays, you can find Mike serving as the facility transporter, taking residents to appointments. Mike represents Sycamore Run in such a professional manner that the facility often gets calls from doctor's offices and and clinics expressing their appreciation for the professionalism, love, and respect he shows each resident and those helping the residents during their appointments. Mike's resident-first attitude is his passion. His vast experience in the long-term care field has taught him how to calm an agitated resident with kindness and empathy.
Mike and Juanita have been married for 31 years, and have a combined 66 years of service for the residents of Sycamore Run. Beyond their years of service, they are the embodiment of the core values and mission of Brian Colleran and Foundations Health Solutions. Regardless of their roles, Mike and Juanita know that everyone at Foundations has the same goal - giving great care to every resident and family member, regardless of what position or title one might carry. We are all caregivers and that is not only the Brian Colleran way, but also the daily lived out belief of Mike and Juanita Seevers.
"Thank you Mike and Juanita," said Brian Colleran, "I'm truly inspired by the two of you, and encouraged for the future of long-term care in Ohio!"
